INVOLVED IN OUR COMMUNITY
FUNDING
Medic Ambulance self-funds its community outreach programs. There is no cost to any organizations to which Medic is a sponsor, participant, or a member. Medic’s current and past notable community involvement (as a member, volunteer, or financial contributor including in-kind) involves the following local civic groups, charities, and events:
DONATION OF AMBULANCES
Medic Ambulance is commitment to offering services throughout California with our disaster strike teams. We also reach out internationally by donating retired ambulances from our fleet to countries in need. In total, Medic has donated 26 ambulances over the last 8 years to Los Bomberos of Northern California which directed the units to the La Paz, Todos Santos, Los Planinos, and Los Mochis communities in Sinaloa, Mexico.
VIAL OF LIFE PROGRAM
Medic Ambulance sponsors at no cost to the citizens of Solano and Sacramento Counties our Vial of Lifeprogram. During community health fairs and other events we provide community education on the use and storage of patient information. We also supply Kaiser Permanente’s Vallejo-based patients with the vials. Kaiser Permanente’s members are instructed in the use of the vials and asked to store them in home refrigerators.
THE RUN TO FEED THE HUNGRY
An annual event in Sacramento in support of the Sacramento Food Bank, Medic provides standby coverage for this event that draws nearly 30,000 participants. Medic provides staffing at First Aid stations, a paramedic bike team, a Supervisor Unit, our MCI Unit and 4 fully staffed ALS paramedic ambulances.
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL & SPECIAL EVENTS
Medic Ambulance is especially proud of its efforts to impact player and spectator safety during high school’ football games. Medic Ambulance also believes that ambulance crews’ visibility during these very public games promotes consideration of EMS careers. The company has offered these special event medical standbys for the football programs at the following schools:
• All high schools in the Vallejo Unified School District;
• All high schools in the Benicia Unified School District;
• All high school in the Fairfield Unified School District;
• All high schools in the San Juan Unified School District;

SOLANO COUNTY FAIR
Medic Ambulance is a provider of special event medical standby teams for the Solano County Fair. During the 20 years we have been involved with the Fair, our services have expanded along with the sophistication of the EMS system and growing commitment to keep event participants and attendees safe. Medic’s County Fair special event medical standby teams offer first aid stations, ambulance exhibits, and EMS equipment.
