James “Jimmy” Pierson Elected President of California Ambulance Association (CAA)

(Vallejo, CA) James “Jimmy” Pierson, President and Chief Operating Officer of Medic Ambulance, has been elected President of the California Ambulance Association (CAA). He will lead the statewide membership organization whose strategic focus is the delivery of excellent pre-hospital care to the people of California.
Jimmy has been a committed member of the California Ambulance Association for many years, currently serving as a Board Member, Education and Convention Convention Committee Chair, CAA Political Action Committee Chair and Vice President. He has most recently served as the CAA’s representative on the EMS Authority Community Paramedic Steering Committee. In 2018, Mr. Pierson was honored as the State of California EMT-Paramedic of the Year, and in 2019 honored by the State of California with Meritorious Service Award for his leadership role in responding to the Northern California Wildfires. Mr. Pierson is a licensed Paramedic and has been serving in EMS since 2001. Mr. Pierson currently leads an organization of over 350 employees that operate over 130 vehicles
in Northern California. Medic Ambulance is a family-owned private healthcare organization serving as the exclusive ALS/9-1-1 ambulance provider for Solano County and providing ambulance services to Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, Napa and El Dorado counties. Jimmy’s mom Helen Pierson, CEO of Medic Ambulance, is a Past President and Board of Director of the CAA.
In his role as President, Mr. Pierson will work with the association’s leadership to advance the quality of emergency and non-emergency medical services for all of California. “I am honored to lead such an amazing association and have always learned so much from being around my fellow CAA Members. I look forward to continuing the legacy of the CAA and guiding our organization into a very important future. EMS systems are being pushed to the limits; locally, statewide, and nationally. The CAA is leader in innovation, and I look forward to working with our dedicated members to meet the challenges we face” Pierson said. Todd Valeri, CEO of American Ambulance in Fresno and Kings Counties, has served as President for the last two years and will serve as the Immediate Past President of the CAA. “Todd has been a transformational leader and I can’t thank him enough for the value and direction he brings to our association” Pierson said.
